Who Wrote My God I Love You?
This is a hymn about the love of God. The original words are attributed to St. Francis Xavier (1506-1552) – who of course did not write in English. However the translator is unknown. Note that it is not the same as the Edward Caswall translation which starts “My God, I love thee, not because. I hope for heaven thereby.”
